Who's Got It (“we,” “us,” or the “app”) helps the person who paid a bill split it with friends and get paid back. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it plain.
Information we collect
- Account info. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and an email address (which may be Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide it). We use this to create and identify your account.
- Profile & payment handles. The display name and payment handles (for example, your Venmo username) you enter so friends know who to pay and how.
- Receipt photos and split data. Photos of receipts you scan, the items, amounts, tax, and tip we extract, and the splits you create.
- Basic usage data. Standard technical information needed to operate the app reliably and securely.
How we use your information
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To read the items, tax, and tip from receipts you scan and build your split.
- To generate the shareable link your friends use to claim items and pay you back, and to show you payments in real time.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
How information is shared
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run the app:
- Receipt processing. When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to our AI processing provider (OpenAI) to extract the line items. It is used to provide that feature, not to advertise to you.
- Hosting & database. We use Supabase to store your account, profile, and split data, and standard cloud hosting to run the service.
- Sharing a split. When you send a split link, the people you send it to can see the items, amounts, and your display name and payment handle so they can pay you back. You control who receives the link.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users or the public.
Data retention & your choices
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen, which removes your profile and disassociates your splits. If you'd like help deleting your data, email us at support@whosgotit.app.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
Children's privacy
Who's Got It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above.
